There are nearly 400 000 sheep in Shetland, of which approx. 100 00 are Shetland sheep, a hardy and colourful breed,one of the smallest of British breeds of sheep. It retains many of the characteristics of wild Sheep,active habit, hardiness, milking qualities and longevity and is well suited to the exposed Shetland weather conditions. --- Il y a près de 400 000 moutons dans les Shetland, dont environ 100 000 sont des moutons des Shetland, une des plus petites espèces britanniques.
