Day 2 We begin our visit to Iceland with the "Golden Circle, the most emblematic sites of Iceland. In the morning we will visit Thingvellir National Park, which hosted the first Icelandic parliament, the Althing, in the tenth century. We will wonder at the huge volcanic fissure called Almannagjá (the fault of the people), located on the Atlantic ridge. On either side of this fault continents move away from each other. Then we’ll visit the hot springs of Geysir (hence the name "geyser"). Strokkur Geyser (the churn) erupts hot water every 3 or 5 minutes, an impressive sight. Finally, a few kilometers away, we will see our first waterfall, one of the most impressive and beautiful in Iceland, Gulfoss (The golden Falls) - Overnight in Geysir area (hotel or B & B). - Lunch on the road (Picnic or restaurant) - Dinner: restaurant
 Thingvellir
Day 3 Drive to the village of Vik on the southern tip of Iceland. En route, we’ll stop for Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, two beautiful waterfalls on our way. The region of Vik offers many photographic opportunities: promontories overlooking the sea, immense black sand beaches (Reynisfjara is considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world), lava needles rising out of the sea (Reynisdrangar - literally Rocks Trolls), Dyrholaey huge natural arch, basalt columns, etc., not to mention the village of Vik itself, a very picturesque one.

Day 4 Morning shooting at Vik (Reynisfjara, Reynisdrangar), then drive to Skaftafell National Park. En route, we’ll be crossing the vast lava fields of Eldrhaun, the result of Laki’s historic eruption in the eighteenth century, a catastrophic event for Iceland, and visit a spectacular glacial canyon. In the evening, photography in Skaftafell NP area (large glaciers, moraines and moors, colorful dwarf birch and vegetation). Night near Skaftafell National Park.
 Skaftafell NP
Day 5 Morning and early afternoon in the park of Skaftafell to photograph the jewel of Skaftafell, Svartifoss waterfall, perhaps the most beautiful in Iceland, in a incredible setting of black basalt columns. The National Park offers also other sights, to the valley of Morsardalur and golden birches in autumn, or the surrounding glaciers. In the evening we'll head to Jökulsarlon, the well-know glacial lagoon, a magnificent place. We'll try to make the most of it, shooting late in the evening to get the right colors. Night near Jokulsarlon.
 Svartifoss waterfall
Day 6 Early morning at Jökulsarlon, on the lagoon itself or on the black sand beach nearby, where small icebergs break into pieces, if the tide is right. In the afternoon, if Jökulsarlon is well covered, we'll push farther east towards Höfn, with spectacular views towards ice tongues on the coast at sunset.

Day 7 Drive to our starting point along the south coast. The drive is long enough and will not allow long photo sessions as the previous days. But it still offers a second chance on several sites, if the light is good. Night near Keflavik airport or Reykjavik.
 Vik, Reynisdrangar
