Contact and styles

I am used to meet different people and cultures in different contexts (I taught French literature in high schools, in what seems now another life, and travelled a lot in in southern and northern Europe, Arabia, Africa)

Techniques and style: I often favour close wide-angle views of the subject, for added presence, and Nikon's famous remote multi-flash system often provides me a more elaborated light when needed.

Best camera and optics

Reportage requires reactivity, a good eye and technical control. The event is often elusive and not repeatable.

My new Nikon D3 full frame digital camera is recognized as the best reportage camera available with its 9 fps, 12.1 Mpix and extended sensitivity up to 25600 iso. It captures fast-moving subject in low light in a way never seen before. Add to this a range of Nikon pro optics from 10.5 mm fisheye to 300mm/2.8 and you know I am ready to cover any subject.

Reportages are now mainly digital, but 35mm and 120 film, medium format 6x7 cm and panoramic large format 6x17 cm can also be used for specific needs (additional costs). Just ask.
