Foula: north coast and stacks, Shetland - Cote nord et récifs, Foula 13170 |
Description: |
13170 - Format: 35mm, velvia film - North coast and stacks at sunset, Foula, Shetland islands, Scotland - Cote nord érodée et récifs sur l'île de foula au couchant, Foula, Shetland, Ecosse - Foula lies 15 miles west of Mainland Shetland, fully exposed to the force of the Atlantic. Foula is natural fortress of Old Red sandstone, with cliffs up to 1240 feet (376 m) high, second only in the UK to those of St Kilda. A very scenic place, not very visited despite its natural beauties, because of its isolation. Still inhabited by 20 brave and friendly islanders.
